I've been meaning to write about all sorts of things.  To tell you about my summer, and all kinds of changes and exciting adventures and milestones.  But on a day like today, none of that even comes to mind.

Today everything changed.  Nick and Natasha welcomed their tiny girl into the world, a perfect 7 pounds, 10 ounces of beige perfection.  Half of Iran, a slew of Italians, and a pair of gay uncles descended upon the hospital and infuriated a team of nurses, all in the name of Sofia.  After what has felt like 2 years of gestation, she is here.

(She looks shockingly like Nick did as a baby.  And she's so bright and aware.  She's definitely the smartest baby at the hospital.  Forgive Natasha's absence here, she was recovering while all of us fought to hold Sofia in the waiting room.  Those nurses  were running a very tight ship tonight.)

  2. Big huge sigh. To have pictures as beautiful as these bringing in a new life, oh my. That little baby is so lucky to have these to see later in life. That Dad's face holding his new baby girl just makes me smile so big. It's such a perfect moment.
