In Sheer Amazement

One of my favourite parts of our apartment are the drapes and sheers. They were a bit of an investment, but they're perfect and so worth it.

Like having a suit altered to fit your body, perfect window coverings add a couture quality to your home. Nobody else has these drapes (hand-picked eggplant corduroy!) and, unlike some ready-to-hang panels from a big box store, these are made-to-measure and one-of-a-kind.

Like a crisp shirt under a gorgeous black tux, sheers are something special. Ours are a champagne colour (versus a pure white, which was too bright and too blue) and they soften the glaring 26th floor light.

Elements like these are a finishing touch that sometimes go unnoticed, but add up to a complete and thoughtful product.

  1. You're absolutely right. It's a huge investment, but so worth it. It's often hard to convince people of that though. I love your apartment, it makes me want to pure a glass of scotch, and curl up on the sofa.

  3. your apartment looks so classy! I really do love your shears and curtains. I am going to show this to my brother. He is getting curtains, and I am not loving his choices at all.

  4. Thank you thank you!

Tell your brother to look at fabric not neccessarily meant to be drapery fabric. If you line it, you can use almost anything. It's more important that he fall in love with the print/texture/colour than get locked-into weight, etc.
